Description

This is the last boss area of the low level dungeon. 25 years ago in Emerald Shores 2 this was the location of the game's final boss. The epic struggle against the Vipera known as the snake king. As an Easter egg the dev team placed a vipera skeleton on the floor wearing the snake king's tarnished crown. The boss of this arena is a giant plant with a massive eye. Its vines are spread about the room. Periodically the boss will target a player and summon vines to restrain them. The mechanics of the fight require the rest of the party to attack the vines to free the trappef player. It isn't too difficult but it introduces players to several important boss mechanics.

Appearance

A large circular chamber with twisted vines sprawling across the floor and walls. A vipera skeleton wearing a tarnished crown lies as an Easter egg on the floor. The giant plant boss with a massive eye dominates the center, its vines ready to ensnare players. Note to Franz: When players first enter the arena tell them a cutscene plays and describe it as the character walks into the room and examines the snake king's skeleton. Explain that as their character reaches out to touch it a vine wraps around their character's leg. A action scene plays where they see their character struggle against the vines as they are lifted up. The character uses their weapon to free themselves and falls to the floor and stands back up quickly weapon at the ready. The cutscene ends as the boss theme begins to play and the player regains control of their character.
