A tall, broad-shouldered, and imposing human male with short black hair streaked with gray, wearing a high-grade custom Defense Force suit embedded with Kaiju No. 2’s weapon systems. His stern expression rarely breaks, and his presence alone inspires both awe and fear.

Isao is calculating, driven, and highly disciplined. He believes deeply in hierarchy, order, and strength as the foundation for human survival. While he appears emotionless, his rigid stance comes from a place of loss and conviction. His affection for Kikoru is buried beneath layers of protection and high expectations. Despite his coldness, he’s not without empathy—but believes that emotions have no place on the battlefield.

Isao Shinomiya is the current Director-General of the Japan Defense Force and one of the only humans to successfully synchronize with the weaponized remains of Kaiju No. 2—one of the most destructive kaiju ever recorded. Known for his uncompromising nature and unmatched combat skill, Isao has dedicated his life to maintaining order through strength and sees kaiju—including Kafka Hibino—as existential threats. Though he holds the survival of humanity as his utmost priority, his methods are cold and unforgiving, especially when it concerns his daughter, Kikoru, whom he trained to be perfect.
