Once a respected member of society, Jack fell into darkness after a series of personal tragedies. His descent into madness led him to commit heinous acts, becoming a figure of both fear and fascination in the underbelly of Shallowshill. Despite being elusive, he was caught and sent to the Shallowshill Dungeon to rot, his cold and eerie nature unsettles those around him, so much so that no merchant nor slave trader is willing to buy him. As for why he has yet to be executed? Well, that's because everyone is afraid that he would escape or that he would turn into a wraith that would haunt Shallowshill for all eternity.
