Interconnected by now-fragile swinging rope bridges and wooden walkways, the complex is gradually being swallowed by the encroaching wilderness. The main guildhall is surrounded by smaller structures, from sleeping quarters to a map room now filled with tattered remnants of its cartographic past. The wooden structures are heavily weathered, with moss draping the exteriors and vines climbing through broken windows, pulling at the framework. Inside, the guildhall's high, domed ceiling hangs over a floor littered with debris and the remains of broken furnishings. Storage areas are cluttered with remnants of expedition gear, while the leisure room's furniture succumbs to rot and fungal growths. This secluded complex, at the city's wild frontier, is difficult to access due to dense undergrowth.

The Shrine of Angharradh is housed within a sturdy oak in Talanosstaar, marked by wooden archways featuring shield and sword motifs at the entrance. The interior hosts a circular chamber centered around a stone pedestal with a statue of Angharradh wielding a sword and a book. The walls display bas-reliefs of historical battles and significant elven lore. The floor features a strategic chessboard-patterned mosaic made from colored stones. Natural light streams in through arrow-slit windows, illuminating the statue and reliefs. Dark wooden benches line the perimeter, offering spaces for reflection or prayer.

Sacred grove, set in a natural amphitheater formed by ancient oak trees within Caerilcarn. The ground slopes gently, forming a natural seating area around a central, flat stone platform used for speaking and ceremonies. Each oak is marked with carvings of historic and cultural significance, detailing lineages and significant events in elven history. The grove is maintained by the elves, who ensure that the foliage is lush, and the space is kept sacred and clean. Meetings here are held under open skies, with leaders and community members gathering in a circle to discuss governance, plan celebrations, or resolve disputes. The grove is not a residence but a communal and ceremonial space, revered and utilized exclusively for council meetings and important public decisions. Paths leading to the grove are lined with luminescent vines, illuminating the way during nighttime gatherings.

Court of Twilit Reveries

A mystical fey court housed in an overgrown elven amphitheater. Originally an orderly structure, fey magic has transformed it into a living, surreal theater. The semicircular tiered seating, merges seamlessly with the natural environment, with enormous trees morphed into organic thrones, adjusting their shapes to suit the needs of the fey. The stage, extending beyond its original boundaries, features a dynamic terrain that is particularly interactive, shifting form from lush tiers to sandy depressions. This enchanted venue hosts fey dances, arcane rituals, and performances that blend illusion with reality, amplified by the amphitheater’s acoustics which carry ethereal music throughout the area. At night, the intertwining branches above glow with bioluminescent light reacting to the ongoing performances. Pathways lit by luminescent stones guide visitors to this otherworldly gathering spot, where sentient plants playfully alter the landscape, engaging in the theatrical whims of the fey.

Eldertree Pavilion

Council hall built within a cluster of three ancient trees that are connected by natural bridges and platforms. The main building is constructed inside the tree with a wide base and a hollow interior, which has been skillfully adapted into a spacious hall. The entrance is marked by a beautifully crafted archway draped with silver and green vines. Inside, the main hall is circular with a high domed ceiling and floor made of polished wood interspersed with small, embedded crystals. Around the perimeter of the main hall, smaller rooms are carved into the supporting trees, serving as private meeting spaces, offices for village officials, and archives for important documents. The central area is furnished with a large, round table made from a single cut of ancient oak, surrounded by hand-carved wooden chairs. This is where the village council meets and where important decisions affecting Nordahaeril are deliberated.

Elven Heritage Library

Elven Heritage Library

A repository of knowledge about elven history, collected from vision seekers. A sprawling library spanning several trees, connected by suspended walkways. Built to merge seamlessly with its forest surroundings, it features spaces with shelves either carved into the tree wood or constructed from it, maintaining an organic aesthetic. Its main purpose is to remind all elves of their sorrow history, and the ultimate price of hubris and greed. It is run and protected by ancient Baelnorns scribes, dedicated to interpret the visions and dedicated to recording the lore of the ancient elven empires to pass onto the rest of elf kind all that they have learned from their ancestors.

Greenwarden’s Rest

Greenwarden’s Rest

Inn and the sole entrance to Nordahaeril. It is heavily guarded by the strong militia of rangers and clerics. This majestic, hollowed oak is ancient, with a girth wide enough to house a carved, winding stair that spirals up its center, leading to multiple levels of the village. The outer part of the tree features several wooden balconies, cunningly crafted to blend with the tree's natural form, serving as lookouts and defensive posts. The balconies provide a panoramic view of the surrounding forest, allowing guards to monitor any approaching threats closely. Inn that caters primarily to the militia guarding the entrance and travelers who have not been granted entry into the village. This rustic establishment is built directly into the tree's base, featuring wooden architecture that complements its natural surroundings. It offers basic accommodations and a warm, communal dining area, where visitors can exchange stories by a large fireplace that always burns with a welcoming flame.

Grove of Vision

A mystical grove of ancient oaks deep within the Sorrow Wood serves as the time portal nexus. Visitors to the grove experience spectral visions that bring to life the history of the Elves that go back to the Dawn Age of the Elves' arrival from Faerie, more than 10000 years ago. The grove is not an oracle and does not give answers to questions asked. Rather, those who go here seeking knowledge are drawn into an incredibly life-like vision in which they must interact with spectral representatives of the people, places, and events from long ago. So vivid are these images that those awakening from the vision often find themselves clutching an ancient relic of bleeding from a wound. This copse, steeped in the melancholy of ancient conflicts and memories, serves as both a sanctuary and an insight into the elven heritage of sorrow and resilience.

House of the Silent Song

House of the Silent Song

A crumbling elven castle, moulded from the living wood of an ancient tree. Recently turned into an outpost by a band of rangers, for monitoring and protecting the region. Its tree tower is complete with a smooth, bark-covered exterior adorned with musical motifs. Marble walls surround the courtyard with the hostelry and smaller stone buildings entwined with flowering vines and luminescent fungi. A small rehabbed dock allows access for small vessels. Walls, archways, and trellises overgrown with wild roses and ivy enhance its mystical ambiance. Interiors feature high, vaulted ceilings supported by branch-like beams. A central spiral staircase rises to bed chambers and grand solar. The ground floor features a great hall, with a grand fireplace and long tables, while the topmost floor features a chapel. Surrounding buildings house forges, armoury, and kitchens slowly being restored to use. The entire structure, while crumbling and decaying, retains traces of its protective enchantments.

Hidden within Morynarth's overgrown trading district, is a semi-open workshop that blends natural elements with elven architecture. Its walls, made of intertwining branches and roots, support high, arched windows now veiled by vibrant vines and luminescent blooms. Inside, the space is filled with workbenches and tools, all coated in dust and cobwebs, except for one. At the heart of the forge stands an ornate anvil and furnace, untouched by decay and still radiating a magical fire's glow. Tools hover in mid-air, locked in perpetual crafting motion. The forge is cool and echoey, with sounds of clinking tools and soft murmurs filling the air, creating an eerie yet active atmosphere. Spectral gemstones and jewelry pieces shimmer around the forge, glowing with an otherworldly light, reflecting the haunted and timeless nature of the forge. Despite its abandonment, the forge maintains a spectral activity, as if still bustling with the unseen efforts of its last user.

Nithrithvinae’s Tomb

The entrance is marked by a massive statue, now weathered beyond recognition, with three faces representing Sehanine, Labelas, and Fillifane. This leads to a set of adamantine doors, accessible only to those of Sharrven noble lineage. Behind these doors lies an expansive labyrinth of rough-hewn catacombs that extends deep under the earth. Winding passages, each leading to a separate crypt designated for a specific noble household, branch off in dozens of different directions. Each family crypt is an elaborate vault containing one or more stone mausoleums.Several of these crypts are guarded by baelnorn spellcasters—usually members of the crypt’s noble house who accepted unlife to stand guard over the dead and protect their families’ secrets.

A vast, wild expanse where ancient fruit trees twist into gnarled forms, their branches laden with colorful, toxic fruits. This once-manicured orchard is now a dense woodland, the ground carpeted with decomposing leaves and fruit, nurturing a rich, dark soil. Amidst this fertile earth, a diverse undergrowth of medicinal and poisonous plants thrives, alongside giant insects, striges, fey, and monstrous entities that roam freely, drawn by the fruits' allure. Dryads, born from these very trees, guard the grove with ethereal grace, camouflaged by bark and leaves, their presence subtly marked by rustling foliage and fleeting fragrances. These guardians weave illusions to protect their domain, maintaining a delicate balance in this mystical ecosystem. Sunlight pierces the thick canopy, casting ever-changing patterns on the forest floor. The grove, resonating with the rhythm of life and death, presents a picturesque yet perilous landscape, a stark reminder of nature’s raw power and mystery.

Quiver and Bow

Remnants of the inn blends into the forest with its ivy-covered exterior. Originally a halfling-built haven, it retains graceful arches and detailed wooden carvings depicting hunting scenes, though now obscured by moss and foliage. Inside, the structure is commandeered by bandits. The main hall's vaulted ceiling, supported by sturdy wooden beams, presides over a floor where wildflowers peek through gaps in the wood. Large barrels, repurposed as furniture, dot the space. Broken arrows and aged hunting trophies adorn the walls, sharing space with bandit emblems and stashed loot. Strategic makeshift fortifications are evident. Lookouts use old tables to barricade broken windows and the entrance is shored up with salvaged wood. The basement, formerly a cellar for fine drinks, now stores loot and provides a hideout. Inhabitants, always alert, navigate their environment with a mix of caution and communal duty, maintaining the inn's integrity while adapting it to their needs.

Ruins of Tyllathardon

The Tyllathardon was once an elven citadel with many towers, now barely any structure stands. Crumbling, hexagonal, granite and marble citadel, cracked and overgrown barely stands, surrounded by remnants of slim towers. Its once immaculate surfaces, intricately carved, are now a canvas for creeping vines and moss. Inside, the citadel is perilously unstable, with sagging ceilings and walls angled for imminent collapse. The upper levels' wooden doors, once reinforced with steel, are now largely rotten or rusted. In contrast, the lower levels' stone doors are often immovable, jammed by the shifting ruins. Galleries in these lower halls, intended as refuges, now resemble tombs with debris-strewn floors and remains of charred furnishings. Hidden in the subterranean sections lies a sanctuary for a demon cult of Malorus’kand, with galleries arranged in a spoked wheel pattern around a central chamber, containing hidden arsenals and dormant stasis chambers of demon-tainted warriors.

Sepulchre of the Weeping Ones

The Sepulchre of the Weeping Ones is located at the edge of Talanosstaar marking the start of the path into Sorrow Wood. Constructed from stone that naturally retains moisture, giving it a perpetually damp appearance. It consists of a network of small dome-shaped crypts interconnected by shadowed, moss-lined pathways. Each crypt is engraved with elvish scripts detailing notable events of elven history. At the heart of the sepulcher is an open-air atrium featuring a large reflective pool, over which hangs a massive weeping willow, its branches drooping into the water. The central atrium serves as a contemplative space where visitors can reflect or leave offerings. The entire area is shaded by the surrounding ancient trees, providing a cool and tranquil atmosphere conducive to reflection and remembrance.

The Shrine of Corellon in Talanosstaar is located within a grand ancient oak, accessible via a spiraling wooden walkway that encircles the tree trunk, leading up to the shrine nestled among the branches. The interior is open, integrating the living wood of the oak into its structure. The focal point is a silver and wood altar, carved with crescent moons, stars, and bows. Natural light filters through the leaves, casting dappled sunlight onto the altar and a stained glass panel depicting Corellon in vibrant colors. Benches of polished wood are arranged for meditation, surrounded by the soft sounds of the forest.

The Shrine of Labelas is set within a tall, slender oak in Talanosstaar, reached by a spiraling walkway lined with arches depicting various eras of elven history. At the shrine's apex, an hourglass-shaped altar made of crystal stands prominently, layered with colored sands representing different epochs. The interior is adorned with tapestries showing the life cycle of elves and the forest, accentuated by light filtering through stained glass windows that cast patterns of sun and moon across the space. Seating is provided by low, cushioned benches arranged in a semi-circle around the altar, facilitating meditation and reflection on time's passage.

Along the banks of Unicorn Run, is a dilapidated network of weathered timber docks and jetties. The main dock, with its gray timber and rusted iron fixtures, stands alongside smaller, more fragile fishing piers, many planks missing or submerged. The structures are heavily entwined with riverine plants and vines, which drag parts into the soft riverbank mud. The area is often shrouded in dense river fog, adding a mysterious veil that blends with the creaks of the old wood and the lapping water. Scattered throughout are remnants of its maritime past: tangled fishing nets, rotting crates, and barrels under open sky sheds. A few derelict vessels remain moored, including a notable trading ship with a carved silver fin figurehead, half-sunken and telling of forgotten voyages. Under the surface of river's water, a hidden danger can lurk which adds a threatening touch to the tranquil yet melancholic atmosphere of Silverfin Landing.

A robust structure of ancient dwarven masonry, complemented by intricately decorated iron gates and newer wooden additions. This formidable fortress, once a dwarven bastion, was later the command center for The Nine's operations and is now occupied by the druid Ogian. The fortress-like appearance is marked by high walls and a few strategically placed watchtowers. Administrative quarters and residential sections are situated along the perimeter of the courtyard, with heavy wooden doors and stone archways leading into each section. Beneath the surface, the stronghold extends into a network of cavernous, old dwarven halls linked by corridors lined with glowing vines and bioluminescent fungi. These subterranean levels house storerooms, dormant forges, and secluded chambers, including recently cultivated underground gardens. Access to the deeper, more secretive layers is restricted, it is rumored to hold artifacts of The Nine still protected by mystical guardians like golems, nagas.

A hub for major events, decision-making, and celebrations. Constructed within the largest oak, its design gracefully integrates the natural curves and branches of the tree. The sanctuary features a vast hall used for gatherings, ceremonies, and communal rituals. The structure is adorned with intricate carvings that tell stories of elven history and culture, enhancing the spiritual and communal atmosphere. Large, open spaces within allow for the congregation of elves and visitors, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the forest. This central hub fosters a sense of unity and connection among the community, making it a vital part of the settlement’s social and spiritual life.

Talontree High Magic Circle and College

Cradled between four ancient maples, the main building, suspended amid a labyrinth of intertwining branches, forms a circular, nest-like structure with an open domed roof of translucent leaves, ideal for astronomical pursuits and magical rituals. The structure is barely distinguishable under the overgrowth of sagging branches and vines creating a dense, chaotic weave. Unstable, rotten, wooden floors hidden under layers of moss, are the habitat of the giant J'ba Fofi spider, weaving dense webs throughout the deteriorated interiors. Surrounding the central structure are round treehouses and inverse towers attached to each maple. These organic, pine cone-like towers have melded with the trees, though neglect renders them partially collapsed and unstable. These slightly more intact structures host remnants of lecture halls, dormitories, and laboratories. Wooden bridges, once enchanted for strength, now sway perilously, connecting the various elements of the college.

Set high in the High Forest canopy, epitomizes elven architectural elegance with its sweeping arches and delicate spires crafted from white marble and integrated into the ancient trees. Accessible via vine-wrapped, swaying pathways, this aerial temple is adorned with feather and wing motifs dedicated to the goddess of air and birds. The temple's open archways allow winds to whistle melodically through, simulating bird songs. At its center, a grand altar, open to the sky, continues to attract offerings of seeds and berries, hinting at the reverence still shown by local denizens. Overgrown with flowering vines and moss, the temple's altars and floors have merged with the forest's growth. A high observatory provides views of the sky and surrounding forest, housing a scrying orb that awaits reawakening. The bell tower’s chimes, forged from rare metals and crystals, resonate with the winds, echoing divine messages and ancient hymns throughout the temple.

Situated at the heart of Nordahaeril, The Temple of Corellon Larethian is an architectural marvel, embracing the largest oak within the village. A large platform encircles the tree, serving as the temple's foundation, with the main sanctuary inside the trunk itself. The entrance to the temple is adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes from Corellon's lore, including his battles and blessings. These carvings continue inside, covering the walls with sacred texts and elven history. Adjacent to the sanctuary is a revered library, accessible to those devoted to Corellon or scholars of elven culture. It houses ancient manuscripts, religious texts, and arcane scrolls, all meticulously organized in carved wooden shelves that follow the natural curves of the oak.

Nestled in Morynarth’s cultural district, is a tribute to elven artistry dedicated to love, beauty, and art. The architecture, once meticulously crafted, now merges with the wild flora, embodying both elven elegance and the force of nature. Statuary gardens here display marble figures of elven lore, now partially concealed by ivy and flowering vines. The temple’s fountains, once vibrant with cascading water, now host subdued trickles where wildlife thrives. Central to the temple is altar, situated under a dome of interlaced branches that filter shifting light patterns, maintaining its role as a serene contemplation space. Marble pathways, inlaid with gems, guide visitors through overgrown beauty to secluded alcoves with jasmine and elderberry trees. Surrounding columns frame wild vistas, their echoes a subtle reminder of the temple’s sanctity. The largest chamber, now an open grove, houses the sacred relics, which have a divine presence in their new, organic forms.

At its core, stands a reflective pool, cracked and overrun with waterweeds, still mirrors the moon, fragmenting its reflection into sparkling patterns. Surrounding altars, draped in vines with nocturnal blooms, continue to receive offerings, suggesting ongoing veneration by night creatures or fey. The surrounding gardens emit nocturnal fragrances, fostering a dreamlike atmosphere. The inner sanctuary, has become a roost for owls, remaining a revered spot for stargazing, its pillars etched with lunar phases, still framing the celestial ballet overhead.

A communal workshop where the village’s skilled artisans come together to create and trade their wares. The structure is an open, multi-level space that allows for the sharing of resources and ideas. One of the section houses a small but efficient forge where blacksmith work with precious metals brought by traders, crafting tools, weapons, and ceremonial items. Next to it leatherworkers treat and craft leather goods ranging from sturdy armor pieces to delicate footwear. On the other side woodworkers sculpt and assemble everything from furniture to intricate carvings, utilizing the diverse types of wood harvested from the High Forest. On the quieter corner of the workshop is where jewelers and gemcutters work their delicate craft, setting locally sourced gems into beautifully designed jewelry that embodies the essence of the forest. Together, these workshops not only support the village’s economy but also foster a community of skilled artisans.

Set on a vast, flat platform built high among the treetops, designed to accommodate both local vendors and visiting traders. This bustling marketplace is surrounded by lush terraced gardens, which cascade down several levels of the surrounding trees. These gardens are not only a source of beauty but also supply the village with an array of medicinal herbs, fresh fruits, and vegetables, vital for the village's sustenance and trade. Stalls crafted from wood and draped with vibrant cloths sell a variety of goods, from local crafts to exotic imports. The air is filled with the aromas of fresh produce and the sounds of bartering, making it a lively center of commerce and social interaction.

Set in a hollowed-out market square, the runway twists through a serpentine path of gnarled roots and vines, dynamically changing layout under eerie, luminescent lighting from phosphorescent fungi and will-o'-the-wisps. Surrounded by grotesquely warped tree trunks and carnivorous plants that dangle from overhead branches, the venue exudes a sinister ambiance. Models, either captured adventurers or bewitched woodland creatures, showcase eerie natural ensembles, like cloaks of live ravens or gowns of whispering leaves. The atmosphere is heavy with the intoxicating scents of toxic blooms, adding a disorienting layer to the spectacle. Chaotic events such as rainstorms or swarms of glowing insects unpredictably alter the runway's conditions. Audience seats, grown from bone and entwined with vines, are part of the interactive setting, where spectators are immersed in the haunting show, experiencing fantastical or nightmarish visions as part of Morgwaeth’s twisted theatrics.

Nestled within a hollow tree in Morynarth, exudes the enchantment of an abandoned bakery-café. The entrance, nearly concealed by moss and ivy, leads to a main café space, with a spiraling staircase leading to wooden seating platforms on the branches, each providing views of the forest and sky. The bar made from magically treated wood that still grows and sprouts luminescent flowers, illuminating the area with a soft glow. Nature has overtaken this enchanting site, with Vapor Vines covering the structure and releasing aromatic vapors that can induce vivid hallucinations. Singing teacups scattered on moss-covered tables occasionally chime with old elven melodies, blending with forest sounds. The floor showcases a mosaic of colorful tiles depicting ancient myths, subtly changing under moonlight. The Soirée, though dilapidated, is taken over by playful sprites who leave behind temporary artworks, maintaining the spirit of mirth that once defined the place.

The Whispering Inn

The Whispering Inn

Inn constructed from timber and stone, standing two stories tall at the edge of Caerilcarn, blending seamlessly with the surrounding woodland. Its large wooden porch, adorned with hanging lanterns and climbing ivy, leads directly to a Ironspan Crossing bridge over the Unicorn Run. Inside, the main hall contains a spacious common area with a large hearth, surrounded by wooden tables and benches. A bar runs along one side, serving local brews and food. The upper floor holds a series of modest guest rooms, each with a window overlooking the the river or forest. The innkeeper, keeps his inn in a festive style, with colorful tapestries, decorations and banners, reflecting a lively, communal atmosphere often filled with music, laughter, and joyfull conversations, of travelers, traders, and locals. The old dwarven bridge connects the inn directly to paths leading into the heart of the forest, serves as the only bridge over the Unicorn Run river.

The southern gateway to the High Forest along Unicorn Run is an entry into mystical, ancient Faerûn woodlands. Towering trees with roots entwined in old stones line the banks, of the serene waters of Unicorn Run, forming a natural arch that invites travelers deeper into the forest. The ground, carpeted with lush green moss and dotted with wildflowers, releases the scents of damp earth and crisp river air. Ambient sounds of birdsong, rustling leaves, and flowing water create a tranquil atmosphere.
