Ancient Rome - Third Samnite War 298 bce

A gaunt man in his 50s, with sunken eyes and a wild look about him. His face is deeply tanned from years spent in the sun, and his long, tangled hair and beard give him a disheveled, almost feral appearance. He wears ragged clothes and carries a staff decorated with symbols from Sybaris’ lost religious traditions.

Paranoid, eccentric, and fanatical. Zosimos believes that the gods are angry with Sybaris and that it is his destiny to appease them and restore the city to its former glory. He is deeply superstitious and convinced that the city's downfall will be reversed if he performs the right ceremonies.

Zosimos was a young child when Sybaris was destroyed, witnessing the city's last days before being taken in by relatives who escaped. As an adult, he returned to the ruins to live alone, believing that the restoration of Sybaris could only be achieved through proper rites and sacrifices, becoming a hermit-like figure obsessed with his rituals.
