Merfolk
These aquatic humanoids have the upper body of a human and the lower body that resembles a fish. Merfolk are as varied in color, size, and culture as humans of the surface.. Long fins extend from the backs of their forearms and calves, and their fingers and toes are webbed. The hairlike growths on their heads are either thick and bristly like the needles of a sea urchin, or long and wavy, resembling fine seaweed.

Their skin is often shades of blue or green, sometimes a blend of the two. If they have a human skin tone, there is a glistening texture that catches the light, like water droplets or nearly invisible fish scales. Their hair can resemble seaweed, waving as if in a current, or it can even be like water itself.

Tritons are a humaniform race with underwater adaptations, such as deep-blue, pearl, or light green skin, webbed hands and feet, and minor dorsal fins from mid-calf to ankles. Their eyes vary between green and blue, adapting to different lighting for better vision up to 1,000 feet deep. They can swim safely down to 3,000 feet.
