Description

The Elder Dodongo is a massive, ancient reptilian beast revered and feared by all who dwell near volcanic regions. This creature commands the respect of all other Dodongos, and its sheer size and power make it a formidable opponent for any adventurer. With its immense, thick torso covered in tough, ashen gray scales, the Elder Dodongo resembles the cracked surface of cooled lava, fortified by centuries of volcanic exposure. Its enormous head, lined with dagger-like teeth, houses a fiery maw capable of spewing torrents of searing flames. With thick, muscular limbs and a heavy tail, it moves with surprising agility, striking terror into the hearts of those who hear its deafening roar.

Actions

Crushing Bite

The Elder Dodongo makes a bite attack against a target within 10 feet. The attack has a +12 to hit and deals 40 (6d10 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 20).

Fiery Breath

The Elder Dodongo exhales a torrent of fire in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 60 (13d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This ability can be used once every 1d4 rounds.

Tail Sweep

The Elder Dodongo swings its massive tail in a 15-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a DC 22 Strength saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one, and is knocked prone.
