Description

The Trader’s Road is a vital overland artery linking the interior farmlands of the Sunset Vale to the bustling ports of the Dragon Coast. Beginning in Easting, where it intersects with the Dusk Road from Iriaebor, the Trader’s Road snakes southeast through rolling hills and borderlands, passing key settlements such as Elversult, Teziir, Smuggler’s Bank, and Reddansyr. It ultimately terminates at Starmantle on the Sea of Fallen Stars, where goods and travelers continue eastward by ship or south along the coastal ways. This route serves as a lifeline for merchants, caravans, and pilgrims, protected sporadically by mercenary guards and local militias. It forms part of a greater network of trade that includes the Coast Way and the Southern Trade Way, channeling wealth, rumors, and intrigue between the Sword Coast and the Inner Sea. Though well-traveled, the road remains vulnerable to bandits, political tolls, and the influence of regional powers like the Zhentarim and the Fire Knives.

Appearance

The road traverses golden farmland and oak groves with stone walls and watchposts, winding through hills with sea salt air and inn smoke near Elversult and Teziir. Wagon ruts mark the dirt path, colorful flags flutter on caravans, and settlements vary from mossy stone wayhouses to spice markets. Night camps glow with fires and watchful guards. Near Starmantle, vineyards and shrines line the road, with gull cries over cobbled streets leading to the bustling port.
