Description

The Thunder Way is a rugged wagon track linking the forested frontier of Thunderstone in Cormyr to the mercantile city of Saerb in Sembia, threading eastward through the elevated passes of High Dale. Though humbler than the grand roads of Suzail or Selgaunt, it remains vital for local trade, frontier patrols, and travel between Cormyr and Sembia’s eastern reaches. The road crosses Baerast’s Stream at the famed Twoswords Bridge—named for the pair of ancient blades carved into its stone balustrades—and winds through highland ridges, dense woodland, and farm-dotted valleys. Historically, the Thunder Way was a contested corridor during skirmishes between Cormyr, Sembia, and the Dales, and old watchposts and stone cairns still dot its length. Traders, pilgrims, and adventurers frequent the path today, especially those heading toward the Elven Court or traveling from the Vast to Cormyr. Though lightly patrolled, the road is prone to bandits and monsters along its more remote stretches.

Appearance

The path winds through jagged cliffs and dense pine forests, with rocky outcrops and narrow ledges. Dark storm clouds often loom overhead, and the air crackles with the energy of frequent lightning strikes.
