Description

The Overmoor Trail winds across the Dragon Coast, forming a crucial overland link between Elversult and Proskur. Though less traveled than the High Road or Trader’s Road, it bridges these major arteries, threading eastward through the treacherous Gritstone Moorland—a bleak expanse of mist-laced wetlands, black peat bogs, and wind-carved rock. Merchants, messengers, and the occasional bold adventurer use the trail to bypass the unruly Lightning Steppes to the south. Though maintained in patches by Elversult’s mercantile council, much of the trail is little more than sunken trackway, vulnerable to flash floods and monstrous ambushes. The Bloodtower, a grim and windowless spire of unknown origin, looms as the trail’s lone landmark and serves as a warning to the unprepared. Despite the dangers, the Overmoor remains a strategic shortcut, favored by risk-tolerant traders and smugglers seeking to avoid Cowled Wizard scrutiny along the more monitored coastlines.

Appearance

The trail winds through bleak, waterlogged moorland with mossy stones and skeletal trees over misty pools. The path is a sunken trackway or gravel causeway veined with streams, shrouded in fog and chill. The Bloodtower, a rust-streaked red stone monolith with no door, looms at the trail's center, casting long shadows and inspiring wary offerings from travelers.
