Description

Athkatla’s Trades District thrums with ceaseless energy, its cobbled lanes choked with hawkers, wagons, and coin-laden clients from dawn to dusk. Nestled north of the Alandor River and bordering the Temple, Gem, and River Districts, this is the city’s commercial heart and logistical spine. Merchants from across Amn and beyond compete in a dense tangle of workshops, guildhalls, and storefronts. The famed Atrium serves as a bureaucratic nexus, processing contracts, permits, and customs papers that grease the wheels of commerce. Tucked amid the warehouses lies the Antlers of Andurl, a lavish dining club frequented by hunters and secretly tied to the elusive Tessaerlee cult. From smithies and bakers to carpenters and butchers, every craft has its corner. The Meirtyn Gate opens this district to caravans and traders from the east, funneling wealth straight into the City of Coin’s ever-hungry vaults.

Appearance

The Trades District is a patchwork of brick forges, timber warehouses, and steep-roofed shops, all coated in a fine layer of smoke and dust. Bright pennants snap above crowded alleys where workers unload carts and shout prices over hammerfalls. A tang of metal, sawdust, and yeast hangs in the air. Lanterns glow in guildhall windows by night, casting long shadows across ledger-strewn plazas.
