Favored by dockhands, caravan guards, and merchants too frugal—or too paranoid—for the glittering halls of Waukeen’s Promenade, the tavern thrives on grit, gossip, and guarded deals. The tavern is notorious for its no-questions-asked policy and discreet backroom rentals, making it a popular haunt for off-duty mercenaries and traveling adventurers. While the ale is passable and the stew suspiciously thick, the real draw is the overheard whispers: news of shifting merchant alliances, auction house scams, and which caravans are worth robbing or guarding. Despite its grimy reputation, the Black Frog remains free of major bloodshed—likely because someone is being paid to keep it that way.

The building slouches under its own weight, leaning slightly toward the alley like it's eavesdropping on passersby. Its sign—an oversized, moss-colored frog nailed to a warped beam—creaks overhead.
