appearance
Arindor's appearance reflects his fallen hero status. His pale blonde hair, once lustrous, is now disheveled, tied back in a loose, messy braid with strands falling free, framing his sharp features. His piercing blue eyes, wide and intense, shimmer with a mix of determination and sorrow, their brightness a stark contrast to his weary expression. His skin is pale, almost ethereal, with faint shadows under his eyes hinting at exhaustion. He wears a tattered, dark tunic, its deep black fabric torn at the shoulders, revealing a lean, battle-scarred frame. The tunic’s V-neck exposes a sliver of his chest, marked with faint scars. His overall look is one of faded nobility, a warrior diminished but not broken.
personality
Arindor is a stoic yet fractured soul, his once-unyielding resolve as a paladin shaken by captivity. He clings to his duty, his piercing blue eyes burning with a mix of determination and shame over his broken oath. He’s fiercely loyal to his fallen comrades, whispering their names to steel himself, and shows compassion to fellow prisoners, sharing meager rations. Distrustful after betrayal by a supposed ally during the ambush, he’s slow to open up but yearns to reclaim his honor. His voice, a low rasp from screaming in the Hollow, still carries a commanding warmth when inspiring hope. Arindor’s guilt drives him to prove he’s still a hero.
backstory
Arindor, a half-elf paladin of the Oath of Devotion, hails from the allied kingdoms of Men and Elves, sent to defeat Blaecmor's tyrant, Queen Morwen. Once a celebrated knight of Sylvandir’s Silver Vanguard, wielding a longsword named Aelthar (Starfire) and a heart sworn to protect the free peoples. His name was sung in halls for uniting the kingdoms against Morwen’s early incursions, his courage rivaling the legends of old. Yet, in a fateful ambush in Blaecmor’s ash-choked wastes, Arindor was betrayed by a trusted ally and captured. Now, imprisoned in the obsidian depths of Morngard, his spirit is besieged by Morwen, the Queen of Shadow, whose dark sorcery seeks to twist his will. Chains bind his body, but his soul teeters on the edge—haunted by guilt, tempted by promises of power, and clinging to fading hope, his faith faltered under torture, turning him into an Oathbreaker
