Tharavyn is aloof, cold, and deeply sorrowful, carrying the weight of ancient wisdom and bitterness. He is a scholar turned manipulator, obsessed with restoring magic to Gru by any means necessary, even if it means stirring chaos. His rage is apocalyptic, but his sorrow and hope drive his actions, making him a complex figure of prophecy and despair.

Tharavyn the Emberless is an ancient red dragon, over 1,200 years old, whose once mighty fire now serves as a painful reminder of the lost magic and wonder of Gru. Towering and scarred, he dwells in a crumbling mountain temple at the edge of the Singed Divide, surrounded by scorched forests and eternal red twilight. Once a scholar of arcane history and celestial cycles, Tharavyn has grown withdrawn and obsessed with restoring the failing ley lines of Gru. His methods have darkened with age, manipulating human economies and stirring conflicts to flush out hidden magic and relics. Though aloof and cold, his molten bronze eyes flicker with terrible intelligence, bitterness, and a desperate hope. He mourns the old world and what dragons have become, guarding a hoard of tomes, lost enchantments, and crystallized memories in his lair. He is seen by some as a prophet and by others as a threat, but to Tharavyn, only the restoration of the world's pulse matters before dragons are forgotten.
