Alternate earth where the governments of today’s world unified and began conducting experiments.
Author's Note: This Earth is inspired by our own, but had a pivotal point that changed the course of history. In this timeline, instead of the Cold War escalating into a tense arms race and eventual easing of hostility between the United States and the Soviet Union, the global powers decided to abandon their ideological differences and form a new world government in the 1960s. Faced with the threat of nuclear war and environmental degradation, the world's nations chose to cooperate for the "greater good."
By the 1980s, this world government had solidified, and the first experiments on human and animal biology began under the guise of enhancing human potential, food production, or solving ecological crises.
As a result, this Earth is fundamentally different from our own, where science, government control, and the quest for power are paramount. The experimentations on natural life have irreversibly altered the planet’s ecosystem and social structure, and this new world is a place of unrelenting conflict between mutants, normal humans, and nature itself.
Around the 2000s, the rapid development of biotechnology, genetic engineering, and advanced medical science became the cornerstone of this new regime’s power. The NWO experimented with the very fabric of natural life to combat the rising problems of overpopulation, resource scarcity, and geopolitical instability.
In the 2030s, with the genetic modification of both animals and humans going unchecked, unpredictable mutations began appearing. Some humans showed signs of emerging powers or extreme physical abilities. The social unrest began soon after.
The year is 2046, and major cities are home to many types of people, creatures, and plant life.

His grounding element is reflected in his appearance as he wears a solid black suit and tie finished with a mask to seal the identity. The Trippers general fascination with physical eccentricity (thanks to their constant state of perspective-altering inhibitions) allows Tie's cover to breathe as those around him express enjoyment in "his vibes", as they would say.
personality
A grounding element amongst the Tripper hordes, his uncompromising (and often unreadable) disposition keeps stability in an otherwise unhinged environment. Operates as a secret handler for the AAX Initiative, none know his true identity except for his contacts within the Initiative's elite ruling circle. Works to keep Bowman happy and active so all attention is focused on him while Tie works in the shadows to keep the underground network running as smoothly, and profitably, as ever. His cover is that of a fellow Tripper more interested in the scientific pursuit than the indulgence, though his time around true Trippers has given him a small, occasional taste, for the rollercoaster of bliss.
With the cloud of mystery behind his true character it is hard to place his personal aims and motivations apart from his contracted duties. Tie may not be his real name.
backstory
Before Bowman was a big time handler of his own drug traffic network there was little to imply any path for the future kingpin other than a quickly forgotten burnout. However, his ability to consistently introduce chaos and confusion into his environment caught the attention of the AAX Initiative, sending in a secret handler to win the trust of Bowman and secretly funnel a funding channel into his back pocket. While Bowman was consumed with the ecstasy of his genius as he constantly broke the barriers of chemical manipulation Tie built the network that currently runs through the veins of New York through AAX contacts.
While Bowman holds the force of personality as the leader of the Trippers who control the underground network, the true keys are held by Tie. While there is typically good standing between the two, any wedge that would begin to form could lead to potentially cataclysmic consequences. A true power struggle that could leave either the victor.
