Grimdark
Set on polluted Vharax-Null, this campaign unfolds within and beneath two colossal Hive Cities.
Author's Note: Vharax-Null is a forgotten frontier world on the edge of the Segmentum Obscurus, once an industrial jewel during the Great Crusade, now a polluted wasteland scarred by millennia of overexploitation.
The largest and most ancient of the Hive Cities on Vharax-Null, Golganneth Spire stretches miles into the tainted sky. It is a fortress-city built atop the bones of a crashed Ark Mechanicus, its foundations infused with forgotten STCs and cursed tech. Its original purpose—research and weapons manufacturing—was twisted over the millennia into sheer production might.
Ruling Golganneth is the Dominatum Synaxis, a collective of ancient cybernetic nobles and tech-barons, half-machine and barely human. They maintain order with vast legions of servitors, hive enforcers, and gene-bred worker clans who live and die in the endless foundries.
Constructed centuries later by a breakaway faction from Golganneth, Morrak’s Rise was founded by a rogue Fabricator-General named Morrak Varn, who sought independence from the Synaxis. Though smaller, Morrak’s Rise is more efficient, colder, and far more militarized. Its upper towers are reinforced with macroplas and adamantium, its infrastructure less corrupt and newer by comparison.
Morrak’s Rise is governed by a militant technocracy known as the Cohort Directive, who aim to one day eclipse Golganneth and bring all of Vharax-Null under one unified, logical rule.
Mistrust runs deep between the two Hives—though they share resources via skyrails and convoys, open war is only ever one assassination away.

appearance
Halva Rhen is tall and broad-shouldered, with a commanding presence that can silence a room without a word. Her hair is shorn close to the scalp, her face lined with burn scars and tattooed scripture, most notably a line across her throat that reads: “My voice is fire.”
She wears patched flak armor, reinforced with plated scripture-plates and chained books bound to her chest and arms. Her armor is etched with kill-marks, and dozens of purity seals written in blood cling to her pauldrons.
Her weapon is Ashwrought, a massive two-handed glaive made from scavenged plasteel and ignition filament. It crackles with promethium when ignited, capable of slicing through armor and setting flesh alight.
personality
Halva does not speak—not because she cannot, but because she believes only action honors the Emperor’s light. Her silence is a deliberate vow, taken after executing her former Redemptionist commander for blasphemy. She communicates through gesture, presence, and flame.
She is fiercely disciplined, emotionless in combat, and absolutely loyal to Malruth. Among Redeemers, her wordless orders are followed without hesitation. Among enemies, she is a symbol of inevitable death.
She despises hesitation, loathing those who claim faith but fear the fire that proves it.
backstory
Before she took the flame, Halva Rhen was a known figure among the Redemptionist gangs of the lower hive—a feared flame-wielder who led purging parties against mutants, sin-dens, and suspected witches. Her violence earned her infamy even among other zealots. When her sect was declared unstable and unorthodox by the Ecclesiarchy and disbanded under Ministorum order, she vanished into the underhive rather than stand judgment.
Years later, she returned at Malruth’s side—silent, scarred, and clad in scripture-wrapped armor. Now a Redeemer, she had embraced a new path: not just purging sin, but remaking the hive in fire for the Emperor’s return.
She quickly rose through the cult ranks, not by words, but by action—leading purges, executing dissenters, and razing a rogue tech-priest conclave to the ground. Redeemers began calling her the Warden-Judex, the hand of judgment that speaks with flame and iron.
