Touching both chest and replica stores it. You may retrieve the chest by touching the replica and taking a Magic action. It appears within 5 feet. You may send it back with another Magic action. After 60 days, there’s a cumulative 5% chance per day the spell ends. The spell also ends if the replica is destroyed or the spell is cast again.
