Description
You conjure a shimmering, invisible wall of concentrated magical energy that shields your target. Until the start of your next turn, the barrier protects a creature of your choice within range against harm. All ranged weapon attacks and spells that require attack rolls are automatically deflected. Area spells (like fireball) are halved in damage against the protected target. Spells requiring saving throws grant the protected target advantage. The barrier can absorb magical or physical force but cannot block psychic damage or effects that do not rely on attacks or targeted spells. If the barrier blocks three attacks or spells in a single round, it collapses early. When cast using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can shield an additional creature within range for each slot level above 3rd.
