His tribe, the Emberclaw Clan, was once one of the mightiest Dragonborn warrior tribes, blessed with the blood of ancient fire dragons. They were feared and revered, guardians of the Molten Spire, a sacred volcano said to hold the heart of an ancient, slumbering dragon god. But glory turned to ruin when an army of frost-wielding invaders, known as the Glaciaran Horde, descended upon his homeland. Led by the frost giant warlord Jorvaskr the Everfrost, they sought to extinguish the flame of the Emberclaw bloodline and claim the Molten Spire’s power for themselves. Despite their legendary strength, the Emberclaw Clan was overwhelmed. Their warriors fell, their lands were buried under ice, and the sacred volcano was sealed under an eternal frost. Thalgrin, still a young warrior at the time, fought alongside his kin but was ultimately cast into a frozen chasm by Jorvaskr himself, left to perish in the depths of an icy tomb. However, the fire within him refused to die. In his final moments, a voice as old as the mountains whispered to him—an ancient draconic presence known as Vulkrath, the Molten Tyrant, a long-forgotten fire dragon spirit imprisoned deep within the earth.
