A deranged spellcaster dwelling within the Irenic Asylum's wine cellar. Twisted by dark magic and isolation, he guards his domain with fanatical zeal, viewing intruders as vermin to be eradicated. He is a master of necrotic magic and control, delighting in the suffering of others.

The gaunt figure casts a spell (spell save DC 13), choosing from the following options: * Chill Touch: Ranged spell attack, 12 (2d8) necrotic damage, and the target can't regain hit points until the start of the Gaunt Figure's next turn. * Ray of Enfeeblement: Ranged spell attack, the target deals half damage with weapon attacks that use Strength until the end of the Gaunt Figure's next turn. * Hold Person: One humanoid the Gaunt Figure can see within 60 feet of it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Melee Spell Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (3d6) necrotic damage.
