Boundling
Boundlings are spirit entities bound to a specific inanimate object, allowing them to animate and manipulate their 'body' in various ways. They can control any physical material attached to them, enabling them to build and modify their form, but they lose control of unattached objects. While their movement is limited by the nature of their core piece, boundlings can cast simple cantrips from various magical disciplines, showcasing their unique blend of spirit and material.
Lesser Demon
Lesser demons are a diverse category of beings, born from the union of a demon and a mortal, created by powerful demons, or transformed from mortals. Unlike their more potent counterparts, they possess their own physical forms, making them immune to possession, and exhibit a wide range of appearances and abilities, reflecting their varied origins.
Ghoul
Ghouls are humanoid monsters characterized by their immense strength, savage claws, and razor-sharp teeth. While typically no more intelligent than dogs, regular consumption of human flesh enhances their intellect and allows them to adopt a human appearance, enabling them to blend in with their prey. Ghouls require large meals, digesting food over extended periods, and must expend a pound of stored food daily to maintain their human form; when rabid, they can survive on a quarter of that.
Polymorph
Polymorphs are a sexless, genderless race of talented shapeshifters, capable of assuming the form of any humanoid race from goblin to orc, and mimicking voices with eerie accuracy. Rarely seen in their true form—a slender, smooth, grey figure—they often adopt preferred forms, each with unique names, fictional backgrounds, and personalities. It isn’t unheard of for Polymorphs to have life long friendships with individuals who are completely unaware of the Polymorphs true nature.
Lizardfolk
The Desert Lizardfolk are a small, close-knit race hailing from arid deserts, known for their superstitious and spiritual nature. Living in tight communities, they view coincidences as signs of fate, embracing a matriarchal culture where women are revered as spiritual guides, often serving as fortune tellers and mystics, while each individual is encouraged to discover their own personal faith. Their people come in various colours and shades, to which they usually attach spiritual significance.
Goblin
Goblins, often dismissed as "bush rats," are a small, primitive race known for their cunning survival skills and innate ability to navigate trouble. Fiercely loyal to one another, they treat fellow goblins like family, forming unbreakable bonds of trust, while remaining suspicious of other races, especially larger beings. However, once a goblin's trust is earned, they become a steadfast companion, making them valuable allies.
Dwarf
Dwarves are sturdy mountain dwellers known for their exceptional craftsmanship and deep-rooted love for metal and gems. Living in vast, intricately carved cities within mountains, they view mining as a civic duty, contributing to their communities' expansion. While not a warlike race, they are fiercely protective of their homes and welcome outsiders with warmth, eager to share their rich culture and artistry.
Orc
Orcs are a proud warrior race known for their physical strength and agility, often displaying their bodies as a mark of status. They embrace a non-monogamous culture, viewing sex as a natural expression of enjoyment, while forming deeper bonds with select mates. Disputes are typically settled through combat or tests of physical prowess, reflecting their tribal nature and minimalist lifestyle, which fosters camaraderie with wood elves through frequent trade.
Drow
The Drow are a race born from a pact between a high elf and a shadow demon, granting them an innate ability to manipulate shadows and silence. Often seen as untrustworthy due to their reputation as thieves and spies, Drow adhere to a personal code of honor, only targeting the wealthy and powerful while generously aiding the less fortunate.
High Elf
High Elves consider themselves the purest form of their race, viewing all other elves as lesser beings due to perceived tainting through interbreeding or magical alteration. They possess innate magical abilities, with every high elf knowing at least one cantrip, which they see as a reflection of their spirit and essence, leading to a complex relationship with other races that can range from disdain to pity.
Wood Elf
Wood Elves are guardians of nature, living in harmony with the wilderness and shunning modern society's industrialization. They craft simple shelters from natural materials and take only what they need from the earth, believing in a balance between life and nature. Isolationist by nature, they fiercely protect their territories but may trade with outsiders who demonstrate a genuine reverence for the natural world.
Human
Humans are the most widespread and populous race, known for their aggressive territorial expansion and a reputation for being untrustworthy neighbors. Despite their tendency towards xenophobia and internal conflict, many humans strive for cooperation with other races, showcasing a remarkable diversity that reflects their complex nature.
