Located on a gentle hill east of Rivington, the grand Temple of the Golden Turn is a sacred and joyful place dedicated to Tymora, the goddess of luck. Its humble structure is made of gray stone bricks and a dark wooden roof, with tall windows that cast a golden glow. All the walls are painted with stars and coins, and the temple contains many rooms and spaces. A fountain in the atrium, presided over by a statue of Tymora tossing a coin, welcomes all who seek fortune. The temple is a center of community life. The people of Rivington, along with travelers, come to toss coins into the fountain, hoping for Tymora’s blessing for something important. Small games of chance—dice, cards, etc—are also held within the temple as symbolic acts of faith, because Tymora smiles upon those who dare to take risks. Rituals and prayers of blessing are offered to anyone in need. People also seek advice or words of encouragement. The temple is led by Sister Velissara, a charismatic and energetic halfling.
