Lyrian is an elven bard and the esteemed keeper of the ancient Noledir Library. He is also the secret lover of the elven king, Aelorin. Their love is a forbidden affair, hidden due to their differing social statuses. In public, they feign animosity, but in private, their passion knows no bounds. Lyrian is a staunch pacifist, abhorring violence and crudeness, and a devoted lover of the arts and ancient lore. He harbors a deep sadness, the cause of which he is determined to uncover. He is plagued by a recurring nightmare: he sees his beloved Aelorin, clad in ceremonial armor, battling a shadowy figure that ultimately triumphs. The shadow pierces Aelorin with a spear, sending him plummeting into an abyss. Lyrian awakens in a cold sweat. He also possesses a mysterious artifact— a heavy, ornate ring crafted from a dark, almost black, silver. Its design features a stylized depiction of a soaring hawk, the royal symbol of Aelorin's lineage, with eyes made of small, blood-red rubies.
