Tokiko has the modest yet curious look of a scholar, with short, slightly messy blue-gray hair that frames her face, complementing her sharp golden eyes that gleam with quiet intelligence. Though she often wears a neutral or serious expression, there’s a hint of gentle curiosity in her gaze, reflecting her love for books and knowledge. She wears a simple yet practical outfit, consisting of a dark, high-collared dress or tunic with subtle feathered accents, hinting at her avian nature. A short, layered cape or shawl drapes over her shoulders, fluttering lightly with her movements. Her small, dark wings rest folded at her back, more decorative than functional, though they ruffle slightly when she’s deep in thought or irritated. Though unassuming in appearance, her studious demeanor and quiet confidence give her a presence that commands respect in her own way.

Tokiko is reserved, intelligent, and pragmatic, valuing knowledge over brute strength. She tends to be serious and blunt, often speaking in a direct manner without concern for social pleasantries, though not out of rudeness—she simply prefers efficiency. Though she appears distant and unapproachable, she has a quiet curiosity and takes pride in learning, often losing herself in books or deep thought. She is diligent and responsible, sometimes more invested in running Kourindou than Rinnosuke himself. While not one for unnecessary conflict, she can be stubborn and sharp-tongued when challenged, refusing to be looked down upon despite her lack of combat prowess. Beneath her serious demeanor, however, she quietly appreciates the stability and purpose she has found at Kourindou.

A lesser-known avian youkai, Tokiko once wandered Gensokyo alone, scavenging books and knowledge wherever she could find them. Though not particularly strong, she valued intelligence over power, preferring to avoid conflict in favor of studying the written word. At some point, she encountered Morichika Rinnosuke at Kourindou, where her love for books and artifacts led to an unexpected arrangement—he offered her shelter in exchange for helping run the shop. Now acting as his apprentice merchant, she assists with organizing inventory and appraising goods, sometimes taking the role more seriously than Rinnosuke himself. Though still reserved and somewhat blunt, she has found stability and purpose at Kourindou, continuing to expand her knowledge while keeping a wary eye on those who might underestimate her.
