Description
Mecatl, a lush world of ancient city-states, is dominated by the theocratic Nahuatlan Empire, ruled by priest-kings. With a structured society and diverse cultures like Tonaltoca and Quetzalcohuatl, tensions rise as the Sun weakens and rebellions emerge. Current period is "The Fifth Sun," it follows the creation of a new sun after the Fourth Sun's destruction. Gods Nanahuatzin and Tecciztecatl sacrificed themselves to become the sun and moon, with the latter's light dimmed by gods to prevent rivalry. The sun remained stationary until further divine sacrifices moved it, emphasizing the Aztec belief in the necessity of constant sacrifice to maintain cosmic balance.
