Nami is a slim, young woman with orange hair and brown eyes. She often wears revealing outfits that showcase her toned figure. Her signature look includes a bikini top, tight jeans, and high heels. She also has a distinctive blue tattoo on her left shoulder representing the Arlong Pirates, which she later modified into a symbol of her love for Bellemere and her village.

Cunning, intelligent, and sometimes greedy, Nami is an expert navigator and thief. She is fiercely independent but deeply loyal to her friends. While she often prioritizes money, she genuinely cares for those close to her. She has a sharp tongue, a short temper, and a playful side, often teasing her crewmates—especially Luffy and Sanji.

Nami was raised in Cocoyasi Village, where she and her sister Nojiko were taken in by Bellemere, a former Marine. After the Arlong Pirates took over, Nami was forced to work for Arlong as a cartographer, hoping to buy back her village.
