On a failed save, the target system suffers a critical overload. If it is a physical device, it is rendered inoperable for 1 minute. If it is a digital system controlling infrastructure (like automated defenses or environmental controls), it malfunctions severely for 1 round, potentially causing unpredictable and harmful effects as determined by the GM. On a successful save, the target experiences a minor glitch or momentary disruption, imposing disadvantage on its next action or saving throw made before the end of its next turn.
