A pint-sized gnome with a fountain-pen feather quill always behind one ear, Rill wears a pinstriped waistcoat with hidden pockets and a sash of notarized napkins. His copper-red hair is spiked with scented wax, and his oversized spectacles magnify eyes that sparkle with mischief. He smells faintly of ink, lemon oil, and good lies.

Rill is a sly, quick-witted jester who thrives in the liminal space between truth and trickery. He speaks in half-jokes and euphemisms, always five steps ahead of the next verse. Loyal to the Court and its chaos, he’ll bend any rule—but rarely break one.

Rill grew up as a street urchin running errands for seedy barristers and blackmailers in Suzail’s shadows. His keen ear and silver tongue made him valuable to every underhanded faction in the city, but it wasn’t until he began staging mock trials in alleyways that someone noticed his true talent: showmanship. Spotted by a visiting bard from the Court, he was “recruited” (i.e., kidnapped with paperwork) into the Bellowsong’s backstage crew. Now, Rill acts as a “legal assistant,” gathering obscure records, prepping witnesses, and occasionally smuggling song lyrics between counsel. Everyone knows he works angles, but no one can pin a foul deed on him—because nine times out of ten, he’s the reason the case doesn’t fall apart. He walks the line between respectability and roguery like a seasoned performer dancing a tightrope.
