appearance
Gond appears in various forms, often as a brawny, red-hued smith or a slight man with straw-blond hair, but always with a forge-scarred face and bright, sharp eyes. His attire typically consists of ordinary leathers beneath a scorched smith smock, though he can summon glassteel plate armor at will. His manifestations include a forge hammer wreathed in black smoke and striking eyes within dark clouds, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of hammers on anvils. No matter his form, Gond exudes an aura of creativity and determination, embodying the essence of craftsmanship and invention.
personality
Gond's personality is as multifaceted as his creations. He can be methodical and disciplined, yet easily distracted by new ideas. His insights are often accompanied by sardonic wit, reflecting his belief that artifice can surpass magic. He views magic as another tool for invention rather than an opposing force. Gond is ever-curious, eager to turn theoretical concepts into reality, often disregarding potential complications. His willingness to work with any patron, as long as the compensation is substantial, showcases his pragmatic approach to creation. Despite his flaws, Gond's passion for innovation inspires those around him, making him a revered figure among craftsmen and inventors.
backstory
Gond, the Lord of All Smiths, is the Faerûnian god of craft, smithing, and inventiveness, revered for his relentless pursuit of innovation. Known as Nebelun among gnomes, he embodies the spirit of creation, often pushing the boundaries of imagination to dangerous levels. His divine realm, Wonderhome, is a grand library within the Outlands, filled with knowledge and schematics waiting to be realized. Gond's avatars take various forms, from a brawny smith to a gnome, always marked by a forge-scarred face and inquisitive eyes. He accepts commissions from all, driven by the thrill of creation, regardless of the moral implications. His relationships with other deities are complex; he shares a friendly rivalry with Chauntea and has a tense but respectful rapport with Oghma. However, his greatest foe is Talos, whose destructive nature threatens Gond's creations across the realms.
