The Shifting Sands Desert, known for its unpredictable sandstorms covers thousands of square miles. It is home to the Desertborne Humans, who live nomadically, following the desert's weather patterns. The desert also contains hidden oases, caves and ruins of old cities. On the frontiers of the desert, poachers sometimes threaten the balance, and some bandits roam the desert. The tribes mantain most of the time peaceful relations but thrive for power.

Type | Desert Cliffside City |
A sprawling city carved into towering sun-baked cliffs, featuring a colossal scorpion mandible gateway with a stinger spire. Vast caverns and tunnels serve as homes and communal spaces, adorned with polished walls showcasing Scorvian art and celestial maps. Spiraling ramps and passages connect vertical levels, with iridescent resin linings and chitin decorations. Ventilation shafts and light wells funnel cool air and sunlight deep into the city. The matriarchal society is stratified, with the Great Mother and Broodmothers in the deepest chambers, warriors and laborers above, and celestial shrines at the peaks. Sacred water sources are cultivated within. Defenses include natural cliff fortifications, guarded entrances with venom-laced ballistae, hidden traps, and narrow passages designed to funnel invaders into kill zones, leveraging the desert terrain expertly.
The entrance is a massive archway shaped like giant scorpion mandibles. Inside, smooth, polished rock walls shimmer with iridescent resin and intricate carvings of Scorvian history and star maps. Spiraling ramps wind through natural fissures, connecting multi-level caverns filled with chitin-adorned structures. Light wells and ventilation shafts bring sunlight and cool air deep into the city, casting shadows. The lowest chambers are shadowed and secure, while upper levels bustle with activity.
