Gautier County stands as a distinguished region within the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, renowned for its noble lineage and strategic significance. The county is governed by House Gautier, a noble family that traces its ancestry to Gautier, one of the Ten Elites who played a pivotal role in the War of Heroes. Gautier was the original bearer of the Crest of Gautier and wielded the legendary Lance of Ruin, a hero's relic associated with his lineage. The current head of House Gautier, Margrave Matthias, is entrusted with the defense of the kingdom's northern borders against incursions from the neighboring nation of Sreng. His leadership is characterized by a steadfast commitment to the kingdom's security and the well-being of his subjects. Margrave Matthias has two sons: Miklan Anschutz Gautier, who was disinherited due to the absence of a Crest, and Sylvain Jose Gautier, who bears the Crest of Gautier and is recognized for his martial prowess and noble bearing.
