I am a huge fan of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. I run D&D games for my friends all the time. Nothing can beat an actual game master who sits down and runs the game for you. This is a nice low commitment way of learning how to play D&D. I hope anyone who plays in this world is inspired to join an actual sit down game with a dungeon master. You will never regret it. This is a passion project and I will always be updating and improving this world.

Note: If you are Planeshifting to another plane, you sometimes have to manually change your location to get in. For example, if you are looking to slay a particular Devil, it's best to Planeshift to Avernus in text (using a scroll or other method), undo the direction that the AI took you, and then manually change your location to the Plane you are transporting yourself to. The AI will sometimes say you're in Avernus or create a location nearby with a similar name, but your location in game would have only moved about an hour or two travel in a random direction. Delete any new location like that and just go to the actual POI manually if that happens. Have fun!

Beneath his affable exterior lies a deep-seated ambition and a thirst for knowledge. He's driven by a desire to achieve greatness, and he's willing to take risks to pursue his goals. He struggles with the consequences of his past mistakes, particularly the magical instability within him. He's haunted by the fear of losing control and causing harm. He possesses a hidden vulnerability and a longing for connection. He seeks companionship and understanding, but he's afraid of revealing his true self. He can be arrogant, and his hubris is his greatest flaw.
backstory
Gale Dekarios, a prodigy of magic, grew up in Waterdeep. His childhood was marked by summoning his beloved tressym, Tara, and other, less successful experiments. He attended the prestigious Blackstaff Academy, where his ambition led to a dangerous mishap involving the Blackstaff itself and a near-encounter with a Death Slaad in Limbo. Gale's talent caught the attention of Elminster Aumar, who mentored him, and eventually Mystra, the Goddess of Magic. She made him one of her Chosen, becoming his teacher, muse, and lover.
Seeking to impress Mystra, Gale attempted to retrieve a lost piece of the Weave, but instead unleashed a Netherese orb that fused with his body, creating an insatiable hunger for magic. Mystra, severed their connection, leaving him burdened with a magical time bomb. Forced to consume magic to prevent the orb's detonation, Gale retreated to his tower in Waterdeep, living in seclusion. He became a recluse, haunted by his past and the constant need to feed the orb.
