Description

Waukeen’s Promenade stands as the beating heart of Athkatla’s mercantile soul, a grand open-air district named in honor of the goddess of trade and wealth. Towering arcades and domed halls flank wide marble streets, lined with exotic stalls, perfumed pavilions, and luxurious shops selling everything from enchanted curios to silken robes and rare spices. This district is the primary marketplace of Amn’s capital, drawing nobles, merchants, adventurers, and foreign traders alike. Dominating its center is the Temple of Waukeen, a gilded bastion of prosperity where coin, commerce, and piety intermingle. Though officially regulated by the city, the Promenade is a simmering web of guild dealings, magical surveillance by the Cowled Wizards, and whispered exchanges beneath its polished surface. It is both a place of opportunity and veiled danger, where fortunes rise—and vanish—in a single deal.

Appearance

Sunlight gleams off golden domes and tiled rooftops as crowds bustle beneath multicolored awnings and rich merchant banners. Perfumed smoke drifts from incense braziers while street musicians play lilting tunes. Ornate statues of Waukeen and masked sentinels watch over polished marble squares. The hum of trade is ceaseless—voices bargaining, coins clinking, magic shimmering faintly in the air.
