A gaunt, scarred Tiefling with flesh bearing numerous small, expertly placed grafts of shark-hide and barnacle-studded bone around his joints and scalp. His elongated fingers end in razor-sharp, blackened claws, and his eyes glow with a malevolent, phosphorescent green. He wears minimal, ritualistic clothing adorned with grotesque talismans made from drowned men's teeth and leviathan scales.

Xylo is cold, calculating, and utterly devoted to the dark powers he serves. He exudes a chilling calm and commands respect through fear and awe. His speech is deliberate and cryptic, often laced with ominous warnings and dark wisdom. He is ruthless in pursuit of power and unafraid to sacrifice anything or anyone to achieve his goals.

Xylo was not born a captain, but a twisted priest of the deep, who fled a dying cult to seek greater power in Serpentscale. He gained infamy by performing increasingly horrific "dark pacts" and "sacrifices to appease malevolent sea entities," ensuring his pirate captain peers received greater plunder. He believes the "Abyss-Binder's War-School" is where the Tiefling truly embrace their destiny, teaching recruits not just how to fight, but how to invoke and endure the crushing presence of "ancient demons of the deep." His methods often involve forcing students into encounters with bound aquatic abominations, pushing them to their breaking point to forge an unbreakable will.
