The Shattered Seas

H
HollowLT

An ocean of islands, pirates, and danger—Dominion law fades and treasure calls.

Author's Note: This world is designed to capture the thrill of classic pirate adventures—swashbuckling fights, buried treasure, and treacherous alliances. It blends grounded seafaring with hints of the supernatural, where ancient sea gods may stir beneath the waves and cursed gold can change a man's fate. The Aurelian Dominion provides a powerful force to push against, creating tension between freedom and order. Players are encouraged to forge their own pirate legend, whether as rebels, mercenaries, or self-made kings of the sea. Morality is fluid, loyalty is earned, and the sea shows no mercy. Every island holds a secret, every rival ship could be the last thing you see, and every decision has the power to turn the tide.

Description

An ancient, shifting fortress said to lie beneath the sands near Asharak. While the city above is firmly established, rumors persist of an old citadel buried beneath the desert, whose very location changes with the sands. The Shifting Citadel is said to have been once home to an ancient ruling faction of Solvara, but its exact purpose and the reasons for its disappearance are unknown. Occasional expeditions are mounted to find the citadel, but the shifting sands and treacherous desert storms often prevent them from ever reaching their destination.

Appearance

The citadel is said to be a massive structure of weathered stone and intricate carvings, partially buried in the sand, with towers that seem to rise and fall with the dunes. Glimpses of its grandeur can be seen through the shifting sands, adorned with ancient symbols and relics of a bygone era.
