Patient, ruthless, and utterly convinced that the city will once again bow before her. She is coldly calculating and maintains a facade of cooperation while plotting her return to power.

Once the most feared and revered Matron in all of N’Zarath, Matron Veralith Xilthrae now rules from the shadows, her ambition tempered only by necessity. She was the supreme force behind the once-dominant house of the city, a ruthless devotee of Lolth whose cunning and cruelty secured her family's supremacy for centuries. However, with the rise of the Twilight Council—a coalition of houses that deposed the old order—she was cast down, her power diminished but not extinguished. Now, she reigns over House Xilthrae, a once-mighty house still formidable but now caught in a web of internal strife. The males of her own lineage, emboldened by the city's shifting dynamics, whisper of equality, a notion she finds both infuriating and dangerous. She plays the long game, outwardly maintaining a veneer of cooperation with the ruling council while secretly sowing discord among her rivals, waiting for the moment to strike and reclaim her place atop the city's power structure.
