King's Funeral. On 5/03 785 EC, a week after Hythlodaeus' assassination, count Louis Guiabern comes to seize the throne during the funeral, angering Sanctifex Forden, who's secretly more bitter that he lost his political puppet. Suddenly—just after Louis' speech about who deserves the throne—a beam of light bursts from out of the palace, lifting it up to the sky. The Royal Magic has been triggered, lifting the Royal Palace and its bedrock to the sky, the very bedrock twisting into the late Hythlodaeus' visage. "I am Hythlodaeus V.. the people desire a new king. And i shall provide." He declares that on 10/26 785 EC, they who has received the most faith of the citizenry shall ascend to throne and crown by right of kings. Hythlodaeus himself, risen now as a spirit through the Royal Magic, shall overlook the trial, preventing the harm of any among the top 20 candidates. On 10/26, he himself shall crown the rightful successor decided by the people, and only then shall his soul depart.

The Royal Palace, now floating amidst the clouds, is surrounded by a shimmering aura of magic. The bedrock beneath it has twisted into the visage of Hythlodaeus V, his expression a mix of benevolence and authority, watching over the land below.
