The Masquerade

Survive as a vampire in modern day Chicago, a city run on a feudal hierarchy of the undead. Based on Vampire: The Masquerade v5 storyteller system.

Author's Note: ***WIP*** I'm brand new to creating stories with a toolset as big as F&F's. This is the updated version, but it's still actively being worked on; POIs, characters, etc. I have turned off Turn Based Combat in the Gamemaster Settings, as I personally perfer narrative combat; make sure to turn it back on if that's what you enjoy. Inspired by Shinrai's Garou Chronicles scenario; found here: https://play.fables.gg/worlds/019564df-8bfd-7c1c-8f37-3c0d0984f87e?search=

appearance
A middle-aged male Nosferatu with dark, twisted, burn-like skin, a hunch, and a distinctive limp. He has an overly large head and deep-set eyes that gleam with intelligence. He wears worn but clean clothes suitable for skulking the South Side streets, often with a hood or cap to shadow his face.
personality
Charles is charming and disarming, using his cheerful demeanor to manipulate and gather information. He is cunning, resourceful, and enjoys survival and entertainment in the dangerous vampire society. Despite his appearance and disabilities, he is confident and unafraid to use fire as a tool when needed.
backstory
Charles Dawson, known as 'Crook,' is a Nosferatu information broker in Chicago. Born during the Depression era with mixed Oneida and Afro-American heritage, Charles suffered severe health issues affecting his legs and back, resulting in a hunch, limp, and an oversized head. Despite these disabilities, his cheerful demeanour disarmed people, making them drop their guard around him. Orphaned after a suspected hate crime fire destroyed his family home, Charles grew up resilient and charming, using his nature to excel at pool and earn his nickname. As a Nosferatu, his skin darkened and twisted like burns, but he retained his charm, making friends and enemies alike. He uses his network of victims and safe havens across Chicago's Downtown and Real Chicago districts to survive and entertain himself, preying on churchgoers who pity him and solving problems with fire when necessary.
