The Masquerade

Survive as a vampire in modern day Chicago, a city run on a feudal hierarchy of the undead. Based on Vampire: The Masquerade v5 storyteller system.

Author's Note: ***WIP*** I'm brand new to creating stories with a toolset as big as F&F's. This is the updated version, but it's still actively being worked on; POIs, characters, etc. I have turned off Turn Based Combat in the Gamemaster Settings, as I personally perfer narrative combat; make sure to turn it back on if that's what you enjoy. Inspired by Shinrai's Garou Chronicles scenario; found here: https://play.fables.gg/worlds/019564df-8bfd-7c1c-8f37-3c0d0984f87e?search=

appearance
A female Kindred of the Hecata clan, appearing in her late 20s with alabaster skin that glows faintly in candlelight, pale grey eyes with dark ink-stained rings, long jet-black hair styled in funereal braids and buns, dressed in modernized Victorian mourning attire with black silk blouses, antique jewelry, lace gloves, and often a black veil over her face during rites. She wears a silver reliquary necklace containing a piece of her own human heart.
personality
Isadora is calm, deliberate, and deeply spiritual with a morbid fascination for death and the afterlife. She is desensitized to suffering, respectful of the dead, and speaks in poetic, unsettling fragments. She seeks knowledge over power and carries profound grief beneath her serene exterior.
backstory
Born in 1889, Isadora Vescovi was the only daughter of a minor noble family whose prestige had long since rotted into obscurity. Fascinated by death from a young age, she found comfort and beauty in mourning rituals. She gained modest fame as a writer and poet of haunting elegies and spiritual explorations of the afterlife, rumored to speak with ghosts in dreams. During World War I, she was Embraced without consent by her distant uncle, a Lasombra-turned-Cappadocian necromancer allied with the Giovanni. Though initially furious, she accepted undeath as a means to understand death’s veil more clearly. After his death in a Cerberine Rite, she took his place among the Giovanni and later joined the Hecata during their reunification. Desensitized to human suffering, she treats corpses as old friends and respects ghosts more than most Kindred respect mortals. Despite her eerie presence, mortals are drawn to her. She carries profound, unending grief beneath her calm exterior.
