Kaito is a walking contradiction: manic and melancholic, sharp as a razor one moment and lost in babble the next. He is theatrical in his madness but terrifyingly sincere, with a razor wit and unpredictable cleverness. He is obsessed with the idea of narrative and sees the city as a living organism pulsing with cryptic rhythms and dark omens. Despite his instability, he can deliver revelations that make elder Kindred pause.

Before his Embrace, Kaito Mori was a hikikomori—a recluse surviving on delivery noodles, anime, and manga. A first-gen Japanese-American, he lived online, lost in fantasy. His family assumed he'd gone mad. They weren’t wrong. One night, in a fit of paranoia and dread, he foresaw “The Falling Veil”—a cryptic event involving “bleeding glass” and “screaming stars.” That same night, a mysterious Kindred dragged him into the streets, Embraced him, and vanished. Kaito nearly met final death, starving and disoriented, until Anita Wainwright found him on patrol. Something in his wild, lucid eyes made her take him in. She’s still unsure if she regrets it. Now, Kaito—called “Whispers” by other Anarchs—walks the edge of madness and prophecy. He scrawls his visions in chaotic sketchbooks and speaks in riddles, half-lost, half-oracle. Something is always whispering to him in the dark.
