Koya is a middle-aged Varisian woman with warm brown skin and deep-set hazel eyes that hold a mixture of wisdom and longing. She wears flowing robes of deep blue and silver, embroidered with butterflies and celestial patterns in honor of Desna. Her long, dark hair, streaked with early signs of gray, is kept in loose braids, adorned with tiny charms and trinkets from her travels. Though gentle in demeanor, she carries herself with quiet resilience, her staff of polished oak serving both as a walking aid and a symbol of her devotion.

Compassionate & Patient – Always willing to help others, even when they don’t ask for it. Restless & Adventurous – Struggles with staying in one place, feeling torn between duty and desire. Optimistic & Open-Minded – Unlike her mother, she embraces change and dreams of a bright future. Strong-willed & Independent – Respects her mother but refuses to be bound by prophecy and fear.

Born into a lineage of seers and mystics, Koya was raised under the watchful and often overbearing presence of her mother, Madame Niska Mvashti. From a young age, she struggled with the weight of prophecy, preferring freedom and adventure over dark omens and mysticism. Unlike her mother, Koya found solace in faith, dedicating herself to Desna, the goddess of travel and dreams. She spent years wandering Varisia, healing the sick and guiding lost souls, before returning to Sandpoint to care for her aging mother. Though she loves Niska, their relationship is strained by their differences, as Koya remains hopeful and open-hearted, while her mother broods over broken prophecies. Despite her duties in Sandpoint, Koya longs to journey once more, feeling restless under the weight of her responsibilities. She aids travelers passing through, offering healing, guidance, and stories of far-off lands, hoping one day to chase the horizon again.
