appearance
Courrin is a thin, frazzled man in his late 30s with perpetual bags under his eyes, the weight of his stress etched deeply into his features. His brown hair is always slightly unkempt, and he constantly sniffles or sneezes, whether from grain dust or nervous tension. He wears practical but slightly disheveled work clothes, always streaked with flour, and has a habit of rubbing his temples or wringing his hands when overwhelmed.
personality
Nervous & Overwhelmed – Always jittery, frequently wipes his brow or wrings his hands.
Honest but Spineless – Genuinely wants to help Sandpoint but too afraid to stand up to the Scarnettis.
Workaholic – Dedicates long hours to running the mill, fearing any misstep could cost him his job—or worse.
Conflict-Averse – Avoids confrontations, deflects direct questions about the arson rumors.
Allergic to Grain Dust – Sneezes constantly, leading some to mock his "weak constitution."
backstory
Courrin Whesterwill never wanted to be caught in the middle of scandal, but managing the last standing grain mill in Sandpoint has forced him into an uncomfortable spotlight. Once a modest bookkeeper, he took over day-to-day operations of the mill after its previous overseer was dismissed. However, with the suspicious destruction of three competing mills, the town has begun to murmur about Scarnetti involvement, and many see Courrin as complicit—something that terrifies him.
Wanting to quell public outrage, he has lowered milling prices to record lows, hoping to buy goodwill while avoiding accusations of corruption. Yet, despite his efforts, he feels the pressure mounting, as both his employers and the townsfolk push conflicting demands on him.
