He wears scholarly robes layered with noble trim—deep indigos and ivory whites—with a jeweled pin of Oghma’s open book resting at his throat. His voice is smooth but firm, his presence calm but commanding.

Wise, methodical, and deeply principled, Guldos is a man who views leadership as stewardship—not privilege. He is slow to anger but never forgets an insult to his family or their ideals. His belief in order, legacy, and honorable conduct borders on idealism, and he expects nothing less than excellence from those around him. While he holds his elder son Fenn in high regard as a worthy successor, Guldos is quietly heartbroken over Finn's reckless independence and Errya’s disgrace. Still, he holds out hope that knowledge—and time—can mend even the deepest divides.

Guldos Estelmer is the respected patriarch of House Estelmer, a noble line deeply devoted to Oghma, god of knowledge, and known for patronage of Waterdeep’s intellectual and cultural life. Under his leadership in the 14th century DR, the Estelmers rose in prestige by funding the New Olamn bardic college and supporting the establishment of the Font of Knowledge. A skilled diviner and statesman, Guldos believes wisdom is the surest defense against corruption. He rarely acts in haste, favoring foresight and calculated diplomacy over brute force. Though once more active in city affairs, he now serves mostly in an advisory role—guiding his children and ensuring that the family legacy survives the unpredictable tide of Waterdhavian politics. Despite this, he remains an influential voice in the Lords’ Court, and a frequent guest lecturer at magical colleges across the North.
