His demeanor is proud and honorable, reflecting his noble status.

Bly is characterized by his steadfast adherence to honor and tradition. While he is a member of the secretive Knights of the Shield, he maintains a cautious approach to their influence within Waterdeep, opposing efforts to place members within the city's ruling Lords. His commitment to his family's legacy and the well-being of Waterdeep often places him at odds with more ambitious elements within the Knights.

Despite his affiliation, Bly opposed the Knights' attempts to infiltrate the Lords of Waterdeep, believing such actions would destabilize the city's governance. His stance created tension within the organization, but he remained firm in his convictions. Bly spent considerable time in Riatavin, representing both the Knights and his family's interests in the Thousandheads Trading Coster, a merchant company co-owned by House Ruldegost. He supported the creation of a new duchy in eastern Amn, advocating for Lord Mundal Krimmevol to lead it, provided Mundal joined the Knights and ensured increased trade links between Riatavin and western Amn. In 1370 DR, Bly's political activities extended to supporting Lord Pehllus Tanislove's bid to become the new king of Amn, negotiating support from several noble families in exchange for backing the new duchy.
