World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

Roanoke Ridge is an expansive, densely wooded area of rolling hills and thick forests in the northeastern part of New Hanover. The Roanoke Valley and the Kamassa River, which winds through this region, shape the landscape. This area is quite remote, giving it a sense of isolation from the rest of the state, and it has garnered a reputation for being impoverished, neglected, and particularly perilous for outsiders. Danger Rating: 9/10 This is one of the most dangerous regions in the country. The dense woods provide ideal ambush territory and are home to many predators, including cougars, panthers, and bears. However, the greatest threat is the Murfree Brood, a savage gang that sees the entire ridge as their hunting ground, known for torturing and killing any travelers they capture. Appearance

Roanoke Ridge features towering oaks and pines forming a canopy over the forest floor. Steep hills and rugged cliffs descend into the murky Kamassa River. A damp, foggy atmosphere muffles sounds and enhances isolation, creating an eerie ambiance. The ancient woods, with twisted roots and moss-covered stones, whisper past stories, evoking mystery. The forest feels unwelcoming, guarding its secrets from outsiders.
