World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

Monto's Rest is an active logging camp in the Big Valley forest, serving as a base for lumberjacks felling timber. The site consists of canvas tents, draft horse corrals, a cookhouse, and a log cabin for the foreman. Danger Rating: 5/10 The camp's hard work involves risks from heavy machinery and falling trees. Its remote location raises concerns about encounters with predators like bears and wolves. Additionally, the tough nature of logging attracts disputes among workers.

Appearance

The camp is a bustling clearing carved out of the dense forest. The air is thick with the scent of fresh-cut pine, woodsmoke from the cookhouse, and damp earth. The sounds of industry are constant: the rhythmic chopping of axes, the rasp of handsaws, the shouts of men, and the neighing of horses. Stacks of felled logs and piles of sawdust are prominent features, and the ground is often muddy and churned by heavy wagon wheels.
