World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

Rhodes is a troubled Southern town in Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne, marked by a feud between the Grays, who control industry, and the Braithwaites, wealthy cotton planters. This conflict affects residents' relationships. With a few hundred residents, jobs include cotton and tobacco farming by the Braithwaites and trade by the Grays. The class structure has the wealthy Grays and Braithwaites at the top, followed by a small middle class of merchants and poor laborers, both white and black, working on plantations and in mills. The culture reflects the Old South, with historic buildings and social rules that mask racial tensions. Danger Rating: 8/10 Security in Rhodes is compromised, with the Sheriff's Office favoring the Gray family. Local violence is worsened by the Lemoyne Raiders. The area endures extreme heat and dangerous wildlife, like alligators in the swamps. The feud between the Grays and Braithwaites leads to violence.

Appearance

Rhodes presents itself as a classic small Southern town, with wide dirt roads and wooden buildings featuring covered boardwalks. The distinctive red soil of Scarlett Meadows is evident throughout, and despite its somewhat charming outward appearance, an undeniable tension hangs in the air, reflecting the deep-seated animosity that governs it.
