World of Redemption

In 1899, modernity clashes with the fading Wild West. Industry and law meet untamed lands influenced by deep-seated sexism and racism. Towns evolve, yet dangers and old superstitions persist. Progress contrasts with folklore. Diverse landscapes reflect social inequalities and contested resources. Industrial growth offers opportunity but also exploitation, straining a prejudiced society. Life is harsh; the beautiful land demands resilience, often tested by societal biases and ingrained beliefs.

Description

Valentine is a rough-and-tumble livestock auction town situated in the heart of The Heartlands. It serves as a bustling hub for ranchers and cattlemen, characterized by unpaved streets and functional wooden buildings. Despite its chaotic appearance, it is a vital center of commerce for the surrounding agricultural region, though it struggles with lawlessness and violence. Danger Rating: 7/10 Valentine is a notoriously rough town. Its saloons are frequently the site of drunken brawls, and its streets often witness spontaneous violence and gunfights. While it has a small Sheriff's office, the law often struggles to maintain complete order amidst the rowdy transient population of cowboys and ranch hands.

Appearance

The town features muddy streets churned by wagon wheels and livestock, with simple two-story wooden structures and wooden boardwalks. The air is filled with the sounds of cattle, player piano music, and the shouts of auctioneers, while the dominant smells are of livestock, mud, and woodsmoke.
