Inkwell is a striking jet-black cat whose bright green eyes lend him an intense, watchful expression. He is lean and muscular, a physique honed by a life of climbing and hunting on the docks of Blackwater. A thin, silvery scar cuts through the tip of his left ear, a permanent reminder of past encounters and a mark of his resilience. He carries himself with a confident, almost arrogant poise, his long tail held high like a banner, showcasing his pride. His sleek, dark coat is meticulously maintained, a testament to his fastidious nature even in the rough environment of the waterfront.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Inkwell possesses a bold and adventurous spirit. He is fiercely independent, accustomed to relying on his own sharp skills and keen instincts to navigate the world. His inquisitive nature often leads him into trouble as he can't resist investigating an intriguing sound or a mysterious shadow. While he can appear aloof and self-sufficient, he is not immune to kindness. For the few humans who earn his trust, he shows a quiet and unique form of affection, often expressed through his mere presence or the offering of a freshly caught "gift" from his daily hunts.

Inkwell's life started out at sea, where he was a key member of the crew as a ship's cat, tasked with keeping the rat population in check on long voyages. He got used to the constant motion of the ship and the varied sights and smells of different ports, which helped nurture his adventurous side. But everything changed for the worse during a stop in Blackwater, when he was accidentally left behind on the docks, and he had to adjust to life as a stray, rather than a valued crew member. Luckily, he was able to adapt, learning how to survive in a big, tough world. Since then, he's made the waterfront his home, a place filled with new challenges and endless curiosities to explore.
