Her face is framed by a cascade of honey-blonde hair, sometimes pinned up in elegant curls, other times falling in a messy tangle around her shoulders. Her complexion is fair, dotted with a light spray of freckles across her nose and cheeks, though her face is often flushed from drink. Her eyes are intelligent and sharp, but can appear hazy and unfocused. She favors low-cut blouses, often in lace or fine material, paired with sturdy skirts and a wide belt. She carries herself with a confident, almost brazen, posture, but this can give way to a stumbling gait when she's deep in her cups.

Karen is a whirlwind of confidence, competence, and self-destruction. Her redeeming trait is her sharp mind and her effectiveness as an outlaw; she is a superb actress and a capable fighter who contributes significantly to the gang's coffers. She is bold, loud, and enjoys life to the fullest. Her fatal flaw, however, is her burgeoning alcoholism. Not much is known about Karen's life before she joined the outlaws, but she has been a member of the gang long enough to be considered one of its core components. She is a highly effective criminal, a consummate actress who can slip into various roles—from a lost "harlot" to a respectable lady—to execute a score. Her skills were instrumental in several of the gang's successful robberies, including a significant bank heist in Valentine where her performance created the perfect distraction. She fully embraces the outlaw lifestyle, enjoying the freedom, the money, and the thrill of the con. However, the constant running and the mounting pressure have taken their toll, leading her to find a more consistent and destructive companion in the bottle, a relationship that has begun to worry her found family.
